Yes. Seeing my parents get old is worrying me about myself and them.

I want to be forever young.

I remember the first time I realized my mom was getting old. It was wild bc I was used to her doing anything and not needing help. Now that I help her with a lot it makes me realize time is really passing by. She just made 72 on the 2nd of this month

I have noticed that some posters have an issue with old people.

After reading some replies on various threads, I wonder if these people are afraid of getting older?

I thought that was the goal in life, to grow up!

Has me worried, because I know elder abuse exists, but rarely discussed. I also understand that people get discriminated against based on age.

However, I don't understand why some people feel a certain way about people who are middle aged and older?

What's the issue?

These nikkas are in their 30s now and realizing acting like they're still 15 is not even kind of cool anymore so they lash out.

How many people have said you know what, I do not want to get old and die, so I will just kill myself once I hit 40…or 50…or 60 etc…

You literally get older by the second. Getting old is like going to work. Everyone wanna have money, but hates working. Everyone don’t wanna die, but hates aging.

And the ones that don't work and live off of everyone else seem to live longer. We might have it all wrong at the end of the day

I think most people are afraid of death. As for me, Idk if I am afraid of death per se, but I certainly don't wanna die before accomplishing certain goals I set for myself.

I hope I will live long enough to retire and enjoy my golden years.

Not speaking about this site, but when posters post tweets from people who say outlandish shyt, it gets me worried because it seems like there is a segment of the younger generation who is a lil behind on the maturity side of the game.

And I work with Seniors everyday

Listening to them scares the fukk out of me cause
I don't trust this govt and getting old sucks

Especially if your spouse is already deceased or either of you have alot of health issues and you don't have a ton of family

Well I mean, getting older isn't optional, it's going to happen regardless of how you feel about it so you might as well just accept it.

What's worse is watching your parents and grandparents get older and less healthy. And knowing what kind of problems are waiting for you down the line.

I am sure you have witnessed some things dealing with seniors.

But, what is the alternative to getting old? Seems like aging is inevitable.

All we can do is live our lives as best we can.

But, to your point, I don't think society is equipped to accommodate a growing aging population.

Also, unless a person has money, said person may suffer as a senior.
