I find it interesting that we allow a social construct to define our existence..
But, for me, I can’t separate being melanin rich from being a man. I was born with melanin. I eventually developed into a man with melanin. I was also born into a social construct who defined my status before I even knew about myself.
On my birth certificate it says that my race is Negro and I was born in the early 70s. Now, supposedly ADOS, according to a couple of people.
So, I can’t be this or that first. I am both at the same time! Can’t separate melanin from my sex/gender, nationality or ethnic background.
I am blessed with melanin!!
