Are you for or against beating kids?

Now as a child who rarely ever got spankings (can only recall getting whipped twice in my childhood)... But I was generally a good kid. Half of me thinks it's emotionally abusive, but then I see how bad some kids are and think it's absolutely necessary. Idk...

I do however think some parents use beatings as an outlet for their anger like punching bags are for boxers.

I voted unsure, though I think as little little kids doing something like plucking them in the mouth for being fresh/out of line may be alright. But I can't see myself ever using slapping or belts because I wasn't raised that way myself.

I'd likely be more of the "take away" parent.

...and I seen that same anger in my sister when she beats her own kids ...but what they do is not spanking its a straight up beat down and it seems like it misdirected anger from other stuff ....So I am totally against all that based on my experiences...all I need is my voice at this point with my daughter

We evolve as humans. We used to do a lot of violent things in the past, we no longer do today (or as frequently) because we are more intelligent and figured out better ways to deal with situations.

I'm for spanking, against beating as there is a difference. After a certain age you have to leave spanking behind though.

I’m really sitting here trying to figure out what spankings do, though. At some point, kids get immune to it. So there’s really no valuable lesson being taught at the end of the day.

I got mine when I deserved, my kids got them as well. Havent had any issues with it. there is a difference in spankings and actual abuse though.
