Congrats on making something of yourself :win:

I'm studying computer science too, only my first semester in though.. Got any advice?

Most definitely....do not get overwhelmed. Love what you do. Don't get into because you think it may land you some dough. There been times I was stuck on a coding project for 2 days but I loved programming so I eventually got through it. I've seen ppl change majors after 2 weeks. Skills are definitely needed in this field but at the end of the day you have to be sure of yourself and show some leadership skills/taking initiative on anything.

Also, when a project is due 2 months ahead...start it the day you receive notice...do not procrastinate.

Just for curiosity's sake, is that something you can start off with in college with no programming history and still be good if you work hard?

wow...you're never too old to learn anything. Having a programming history b4 college is often preferred and it helps. You would definitely have to work your ass off...no question.

get an MD breh, it's not easy but you will never regret it

4 years undergrad bust your ass to get scores good enough to get in med school, that's really the hardest part. Once you in the stress is off now just get through 4 years. 3 years of making 35-45k then boom you making 200K and growing till the casket drop and will never be jobless

you can even do something easy like family medicine have an easy as shyt lifestyle and make 175k if you not into working long hours

Go get a MD:bryan: easier said than done

Lol im saying tho.

In college you there for atleast 4 years, hella broke just studying.

And each year that passes by more and more people need masters nowdays, so now you in for atleast 6 years.

6 years of being broke, and when you finally leave you gone be hella in debt and shyt.

Its like, ok you went to college at 18.

You graduate at 23-24. For those years you were broke as hell in college.
But its all good cuz u finally graduated! Or is it, you now may get a job, but you're spending around the next 15-25 maybe even 30 years paying off college debt

The people that skip college and start working aren't broke?

Out of my whole immediate family, I'm the only one that didn't go to college. Its not for everyone, don't go just for the sake of going.

Also, in the work world, sometimes work experience is more valuable than a degree so know that u can still make a decent living without a degree, specially if its some bullsh!t degree you decided to major in cause u didn't know what u wanted to do.

I'm happy and proud to say that I have good credit and no debt, at all. That's another pro of not going to college, not having any debt.

Also, some people think that if they don't go to college they will miss out on great parties and a great social life. That's bullsh!t, I've never been to college and I've gone to great parties and had a great social life in the work related arena. Also, I had friends that were in university so I went to college parties with them too so in that sense, I don't feel I missed out on anything.

Before I left school one teacher in particular kept stressing to me how important it would be for me to go to college and what a great time I would have. But, I saw it like this: I already hated high school and doing homework and all that sh!t already, so if that's ur situation, then college ain't for u.

Also, don't get pressured into going straight away. My older brother hated school and never went to college but when he hit his late 20s he became interested and went to university as a mature student. U can always go to college later in life.

I went to college because I didn't wanna grow up and take responsibility.

I have an idea of what I wanna do but I haven't taken one step to do it. And it has nothing to do with college. Getting that degree anyway though.

If I was dedicated I'd have made something of myself, but it's too late :yeshrug:

Could you explain our situation more in-depth?

I think I'm like you. I don't really know what I want to do but ye I'm in college.

Nah actually I want to produce music, like make beats but I'm too embarrassed to tell my father. I'm just doing this college thing as a backup. :sadcam:

I'm trying to learn more now. I've been on and off with it, dabbling in it and just taking baby steps since 2010 but I never took it seriously. :snoop:

I have this nasty habit of half-assing everything I do but I really want to do start producing. I just need that drive but don't know where to find that motivation. However I sometimes get a spark of motivation to do it when I hear a beat that just makes me go :ohlawd: But that feeling doesn't last too long. :wow:

If ur serious about it, that's what u should study. There are many courses u can do out there when it comes to production. Back when I was 19 I was interested in doing that and was considering an extensive 6 month course where they taught u everything there is to know. Unfortunately I had some problems and wasn't able to take the course.

The place where I was gonna study is still open however, I'm considering doing a course with them sometime in the next year. I will have to contact them and see what the prices are these days but I'm still interested.

Also back in the day when I went for the open day they showed us all around the big studios they had and they put us on a little game. They were telling us how apart from working with artists u can sell ur beats and music to marketing companies for commercials and all kinds of other ventures that can pay quite well. Like if u sell some music to a company for a commercial u could get like 30 G's or more for like 30 seconds worth of music.
