Nah son. i get 2% cash back on my sapphire and the 3% on certain purchases with my apple card. last month i got $90 in free money, paid $0.00 in interest. Why would someone not take advantage

They got you an extra 2% 3% discount to incentivize you to spend more and at certain vendors

The vendor pays the card company a merchant fee with every card swipe

The card company then pocketed the difference between the merchant fee and the "cash back" and then gave you your correct change back at the end of the month.

Apple gives you 2 percent anywhere you use Apple Pay. No incentive to spend money anywhere specifically for me. If I’m just so happening to go to the Nike store I’ll definitely use that card for 3%

For me, I handle my finances judiciously, I don’t spend a dime based on an incentive. I buy what I want/need and in doing so I’m going to use the method most beneficial to myself.

As far as the merchant paying the interchange costs associated with my transaction, that’s not my problem. I bank about a 1k in cash per year, never pay interest. I just booked a flight and stay in Nairobi solely with cash banked from CC rewards

I haven't applied for a new card in years but I will say when you walk into the bank and ask to apply for any type of loan, watch the demeanor of the loan officer before and after they pull your credit. It's....interesting

2022 I will literally have a 900 perfect score.
