America’s decline will be like its rise. Fast and meterotic.

Britain, France, the Dutch Republic etc. had relatively soft landings but America could have a hard one for a different reason. The problem today is the complex nature of our economy and the interlocked global trade. For example, if fertilizer manufacturing stopped, something like 2-3 billion people could starve globally since we couldn't maintain the crop yields otherwise.

Likewise, most grocery and drug stores don't procure locally but have stuff shipped in to local distribution centers from around the world. The big thing to hurt the US would be if logistics and transport got frozen. Then pantries would go bare and people would start acting vicious. Same with medicine shortages. So that could bring us down fast.

Besides that, I don't find the Mad Max complete government collapse scenarios to be as realistic as people think. There have been shadow government plans since the Cold War in case of nuclear attack and unless the military/national guard splinters into warlords, someone would establish control, at least at the state level. The local level shyt might be a mess as some localities might side with the militia, try to secede, etc. Right or wrong, unlike many empires in the past, Americans by a huge majority see themselves as Americans first and not as some conquered people that bow to Rome/London/Persepolis, etc. Rome split partially because the majority of the Empire weren't even citizens.

Another big problem would be if foreign power try to interfere to stir some shyt up.

trust... they are ON their shyt. You should be trying to at least put on those black folk you trust to the weaponry game...and even pooling resources for a bunker and/or stockpiles... generators, rafts, etc... at least your immediate family. they got their whole family armed. believe that.

I think in that situation I would be on the move to a safe area. I'm not trying to stand my ground if we are surrounded by militias.

Anyway, if we get out of the way I think they will start fighting each other and the remnants of central authority way more than they fight us. They aren't unified about anything but anti-government and everyone is going to want to be king...

What we could see is that when white radicals see their world crashing down economically, and be politically desnfranchised because of demographics they may launch terror attacks. The opioid epidemic is basically precursor for things to come. America’s will lose its sole hyper power status because of financial constraints. Basically a debt crisis. Imagine mass pension cuts, safety net cuts, cities cutting down on firefighters and police along with sanitation. Radical political thought become prevalent. Mass unemployment and a massive crime wave across the country. Like Brazil we see super gangs appear. Police rarely enter to patrol the hood allowing criminal organizations to rule like Brazilian gangs do in Brazil. Right wing militias will start targetting and taking over mall towns but get mauled by the governments response. The rich will be protected and the poor areas will be left to their own devices. It will be kinda a combo of Russia in the 90s and Latin America in the 80s and 90s. Just imagine how the modern American society would react to a Great Depression. The crime rate would be out of control and police will make less money and have their manpower cut. With all the guns and drugs this nation has. shyt could go ugly fast.
