She might have made it as a pop star in the Britney era. Even then, there was a lot of competition, but she would have fit right in that post Alanis/Lisa Loeb era(I call that the poor white girl generation). But R&B? There were some all-time voices in the 90s.

Her whole aesthetic aint even the same though. That poor white girl generation was alternative, and her voice is too strong for that. Even now, she has to resort to changing her whole style up to get popping. Her whole quasi lolita aesthetic is weird considering she's like 20.

I mean that she is perfect for the era after the poor white girl generation. Like the day I remember Britney's video debuting. Then it was like a flood of Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jessica Simpson, Wild Orchid Fergie, Mandy Moore, etc. that ended when Kelly Clarkson went alternative. Even Mya's album at the time was in that same lane. They all had that white girl R&B Disney training sound and had too much power for what they were singing, but with R&B going out, they were stuck with pop. Like they were never trained to harness that power. That's why I thought that SNL skit was funny when they had her singing with Lionel Richie. She's definitely a throwback to the late 90s/early 2000s.

When Ariana Grande can learn how sing with emotion and soul then comparisons can be made, but until then :camby:

Until that kidsize platter plate makes Hero, One Sweet Day, Breakdown, Vision Of Love, and the list goes on, then point can be validated:stopitslime:

Carey is and always has been overrated as far as appearance goes. She has a great voice but that's it.

Yo, it's because that industry is literally full of homosexuals and pedophiles. You think I'm joking? They're putting that on the masses now. Liking slim women is normal, preferring flat chest and flat assed anorexic women is not.

its not really because whites are pedos if thats what your wondering, considering the type of women (who would be thick and fine by black standards and fat by modern white standards) they were hyping up for thousands of years. :mjpls:

Yeah, the rap industry isn't full with "homosexuals and pedophiles" unless you're talking about Hollyweird cacs. Despite what you say, cacs are indeed prone to bouts of perversion and do prefer thinner women. Studies implicate the latter. That nonsense you bring up about fat women being appreicated in the past is just your own twisted weirdo cac bias mixed with occasional fat girl fetishism on European artist's part.
