Aries Spears has always been underrated.

Just watched those Eddie and R Kelly MadTV clips. He’s definitely talented. He could have went further, but he doesn’t seem to be that likable.

I could see that in his interviews. I guess it's true that you have to be likable to make it also

Aries Spears was great on Mad Tv.

But it occurred to me that I’ve never seen an Aries Spears comedy special.

Has this dude ever done an hour on HBO?
He must have. Right? But I don’t recall ever hearing of an Aries Spears special. How is that even possible for a guy with 25 years in comedy?

Trust, you are not missing much. His standup is basically a Mad TV skit in spoken word form. There is a huge difference between a comedian like Eddie Griffin whose natural with the standup, and can transition to acting.

In Spears case, he relies heavily on writers and can't bust a joke without imitating such and such
