I think the difference is that back home in the Midwest (I'm from Ohio), usually the rough areas were specific sides of town, or specific areas or neighborhoods. So it was a whole lot easier to keep yourself out of a bad situation.

Out here though, since investors have been pressed to just develop as many things as possible, you are a lot of situations where you have entire areas where one block is shytty, but the next block over is great, so you get a lot of people interacting that, to be frank, we're just not used to having the same proximity to each other.

But it really depends on where you live, though. Where I'm at now near Paradise Valley (the now former mall), shyt is pretty chill.

Biltmore's really nice.

I used to live in that area about 10 years ago, loved it, and low-key have regretted moving away the entire time. It's close enough to the heart of downtown that all of it is no more than a 10 minute Uber ride away if your driver gets caught in day of event flow of traffic regulation fukkery. Also not too far off from Scottsdale and Tempe if you want to head out there. Highly suggested, assuming it's in your budget.



What, Gilbert, or North/Central?

I ask because sometimes my perspective is all kinds of fukked up. When I first moved out here, my lady and I stayed with some of her family in Scottsdale, so that's kind've where the scale starts for me. I went out to Gilbert for work a couple of times, and definitely thought "THIS is what some of these motherfukkers have been taking about!? "

I don’t even party anymore. Left that in my 20s. A good sports bar is enough for me
