I've been hearing the last few years that they were downsizing, tossing people out for little things.

Has Trump ushered in changes, or was I just completely misinformed?

Understand, the govt, in particular the DoD, is almost completely inept.

Cant speak for whats going on in the Army, but the Air Force is in the same boat. Mostly because around 2013-2014, they went ham kicking people out due to the sequester/trimming the military budget. Not to mention just being a shytty run organization.

The dumbasses chased and kicked out a good chunk of their pilots and aircraft mechanics. Spring forward to 2017 and the air force is 4,000 air craft mechanics short and is offering $420,000 bonuses to retain pilots (you read that correctly). Not to mention not being able to retain other high skilled operators like Intelligence and Cyber operations personnel....

Doesnt surprise me they're losing people left and right though. From what my friends/pops has told me though, peace time Army is the WOAT Army.

When your OPSTEMPO is low and youre stuck at Garrison, thats when the fukkery escalates. Too many bored Senior Enl. Advisors and Flag Officers who have to start creating ways to keep the force ready i.e create bullshyt for the troops to do so they can have a bullet point for their next promotion.

I don't understand why anyone would join the Army over the Air Force or Navy. Sure with three Marines you get sent into the shyt first but at least the name Marine has some stature with it. Nobody gives a shyt about the Army, just means you gonna be walking around getting blasted while the other branches are off on a boat or a base and a lot safer than you.
