I mean I don't think TDE is really the best Label if he really wants to break out, especially not part of a group.
But I guess just having his name associated with them will at least make fans of TDE check him out.

very few underground artists are making ANYTHING off of their catalogues today anyway. this is more for promotional purpose so each of them can gain more fans and support of their work as solo artists. btw, Nick Grant is one of my fav young artists.

I don’t think the focus here is on bags or sales. This is a passion project. Seems like Punch loved the TPAB sessions and has been chasing that feeling. He’s been working with these artists for years, and I really don’t think they’re thinking about Spotify playlists or sales.

My only issue is that the label has seemed completely stagnant outside of this and a couple SZA tracks. There were rumors that TDE was doing a label album, recording it in a house in Malibu, similar to the Dreamville thing. Honestly it just seems like the label is confused unless Kendrick is dropping. As if that finances everything. I don’t that’s not true but man these dudes sure wasted their momentum so many times (post GKMC, post DAMN, post Black Panther).
