I cant agree with you on that,thats not what I felt from Cosbys speech,maybe I'm guilty as the same thing I'm accusing him of and being ignorant to his generation perspective....But all I can say is I've heard black people from his same generation have a much better approach that didn't make me sick to hear,and they were saying all of the bolded....under the circumstances and who it was coming from I don't think we will see eye to eye.

And I don't think you can compare us to jews and Asians....For one we lost generations of fathers due to the crack era,and discriminatory drug laws,whether you believe this was a tool of white supremacy I'll leave for you to decide....But we are talking about a system that is STILL in place that discriminates against black men....Jews and Asians don't face that.

For one living in poverty and coming from a family who knows nothing but poverty already creates self doubt,your asking people who sometimes don't know anything different,or know anything else,to decide they want more....That's not as simple as people who are "woke" or blacks who don't come from poverty try to make it out to be....Its great when somebody steps out and breaks the cycles,because that can last for generations to follow.

I agree as a people we may instill too much self doubt to our kids,who are already born in a situation and a country where the self doubt is easy to come by when your black...But on the flip side,not warning your seeds of the white supremacy system we live in,and not telling them their history,two things that can cause more self doubt....Its irresponsible not to teach them,so its a damned if you do damned if you don't situation...So even as parents we have it harder which is something we gotta understand.
