I believe at a minimum he is guilty of sexual assault.....I think he is likely guilty of having sex with women when they were passed out, or other similar acts. Thats flat out rape to me. There another misconcpetion that the only former of 'legit' rape is a stranger attacking a woman, grabbing her from behind, and forcing himself on her, maybe with a gun or knife used. Aquiatance rape is much, much more common, and fits right into the this case.
So, purely objectively, you have a rich, powerful, influential man, in a position of power and respect, who was frequently in the company of women, younger, adoring, and looking at Cosby as a way in to the game, a mentor, an important friend to have. None of that is in contention. Now, you have over 30 women who have come forward and alleged that sexual misconduct/sexual assault took place....knowing what I know about rape victims, (what a devastating and humiliating experience that is, esp. in the very public eye, and going at a beloved celebrity) and the stats about false rape claims, I believe they are telling the truth, and even if some are lying, even half, I don't believe all of them are.
Then, taking into account Cosby's depositions and his statements there, I think you have a man guilty of sexual assault. I think it's very improbable and highly unlikely that many women are conspiring to ruin Cosby, or incur financial gain. We can go into the psychology of a sexual offender, and compare to what we know about Cosby, we can go way further...but, thats what I am looking at.
As for the Roseanne question, I'll put it back to you, if you were sexually assaulted by someone, perhaps unattractive, and a celebrity, as a teenager or 20 something, you would file charges and a civil suit right away? Despite that your friends and family will know you as either a victim of sexual assault, or a leech on the come up. Thats your label for life.
