I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all. It's that Basquiat took elements from other artists, Cy Twombly being his most heaviest influence and then Art Brüt Jean DeBuffet.

But you gotta know art history, which Basquiat definitely knew.

Me personally the only thing me and Basquiat have in common is that we black, urban media users (spray paint, crayon, oil stick, collage), HaitixLouisiana connection, and the crown.
