25 years even with various budgets cuts is a hell of a run for chidren's public television show. This was the show that helped countless children grow up and learn life's lessons. I like how Arthur had a an adopted breh cousin from Cleveland tho. :heh: But yea, only thing is maybe they should have given it a final movie or something but still great show, dropped a lot of jewels for the youth.

He's getting an 8 episode "final season".

Personally, I think the show is going to get rebooted via streaming service based on comments made to IGN. I just hope that they keep the older shows on PBS for kids that don't have basic cable. HBO Max did it with Sesame Street while working out a deal with PBS to still air episodes, so I figure that someone will try and do the same with Arthur.

I never watched Arthur on my own, but I vividly remember it playing on the big television on the stage in the cafeteria during breakfast before we went to class in K - 3rd. That & Reading Rainbow. Arthur also was the standard after school during Extended Day if you had to hang around after school hours until your folks could pick you up. Can still hear the opening theme while I halfway ate a Zebra Cake ready to go home at 3:30 like :mjcry:

Arthur being canceled is actually sad as hell just off the nostalgia. Its the OG. Time flies.

Hell naw

Them goddamn colonial tales were the WOAT

I would switch the channel every time his lil ass would hop on the screen

:mjlol:

Nahhhhh breh Wishbone had some excellent retellings of classics like Tom Sawyer and Count Of Monte Cristo.

Also zoobomafoo was underrated too.

One cartoon thats legit restoring the feeling right now is Craig Of The Creek. It is hands down the BEST children’s program airing today.
