Mike was just telling you what the Brazilian census says It's widely known the population is mixed race though. It's yall that insist otherwise.

No, a portion of that "White population" is pardos misidentifying themselves. Skin color isn't the only way to identify a mixed person.

Um no it's not. Unlike america, they count their admixture group as prado. nikka if we did that in america we'd only have 2% as well. :wtf:

No we wouldn't. Multigenerational mixed is Zoe Kravitz. She comes from two biracial parents. That's a continuity of mixing. Most African Americans aren't in this category and it's not close. Most african americans do not have another race grandparent of great grandparents. Pure :duck: and internet sensation. This reality doesn't exist in the physical world.

Pardos are generally mixed anyway so in truth they don't count towards the black or white population.

In Brazil anyone that can fit into a mixed or other group does. Therefore the people who likely count themselves as black are more likely to be actual blacks since to be black you must not fit into anything else. So the 4% is likely accurate thereabouts and matches well with Brazil's historical record. Your statement about America is true but irrelevant. Black American statistics are overinflated.

of course it doesnt but that doesn't mean its wrong. Are you telling me there are 2% blacks in america? Because that's what it would be if we followed their classification, damn near all of us have some type of admixture.

I knew this is where you were going because there is no distinction made in this country. All of us have admixture and then there comes a point where identifying as such is ridiculous. They've made that distinction in their country.

:laff: what is so bad about them doing so?

NO OTHER COUNTRY ABIDES BY US CLASSIFICATIONS ON RACE. EVEN THE GODDAMN UNITED KINGDOM ACKNOWLEDGES MIXED RACED INDIVIDUALS/BIRACIALS. WE DON'T. If we didn't have BIRACIALS in America we'd probably drop 1-3 million people max. YOu guys grossly overestimate our admixture and I know why.

Only 9 million Americans identified as such in the 2010 census. 9 million out of 300 million. How many there actually are? No one knows.

It seems you already know the answer to your question as well as the implications thereof so I won't reply. Good luck.

how the fukk are you going to tell me? nikka I've been there 3 times, sat down with the people and have had this discussion plenty of times. Meanwhile you're googling western articles. Of course they have multigenerational mixed folks, they've been mixing for 200 years longer and didn't have the same economic segregation as us. However, the people that click prado would be seen as black in america. Obama clicks african american, but he's biracial. The point is, in brazil, someone like anderson silva, who is 25% white, clicks prado, and in America Obama clicks black. So trying to compare census is fukking stupid.

And to top it off, Brazil is currently reforming their census prior to the world cup ANYWAYS, so chances are their mixed is projected to be well into the 70 percentile. There is a growing trend in brazil where folks are now claiming their african ancestry, despite being blonde. Brazil is a very complex place racially.

Anyways this discussion is stupid in itself, I'm moving to Brazil end of 2015 for good, and I know a few black men that have already made the jump, did you think this article was going to discourage blacks from visiting a country with african culture and ties? :pachaha:
