Ever wonder how much it would cost to book your favorite band?

Thanks to Degy Entertainment, a major booking agency, we can give you a rough idea: an anonymous source passed along a list of their performers' rates per show (pre-expenses).

According to this list, a total of eight Degy acts command more than $1 million per show: Taylor Swift, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, James Taylor, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi. Surprisingly, half of these artists are over the age of 45. Madonna, who grossed over $300 million on her MDNA tour, was 2013's highest-grossing artist.

But a few things seem strange here. Lady Gaga, who was 2013's second highest-grossingartist, almost certainly commands over $1 million per show (as opposed to the $750k figure reported here). In 2011, the artist grossed nearly $2 million per show, of which she kept $800,000.

One Direction, Britain's most successful boy band of all time, also seems suspiciously low, listed here at "$150-200k+" per show. Another booking site suggests numbers nearly three times higher -- $500,000-$1 million per show -- which seems more realistic, considering the band's tremendous explosion in popularity.

Lastly, Creed for $100,000? No thanks.

The first thing that stuck out to us in this list was Ice Cube's $30k rental rate. Certainly, the man who Snoop Dogg once proclaimed "the greatest MC of all time" must command more than that! The figure listed for him here may, in fact, be his fee for speaking engagements (not rapping) -- another booking site clarifies that his "social issues and leadership" talks come with a $30k-50k price tag.

We also couldn't help but notice the abundance of big 90s bands in this category -- Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Ben Folds, The Wallflowers -- and wonder how these rates would compare to what these artists made in their prime.

I worked in hip hop now in EDM and work for an artist on that list. I do a lot of festival ish and his tours and can tell you that is off. It depends on time of year, if they have an album or single out, where the show is etc There's a lot of variables. If we have two booked shows for Friday and Sat we may take one a state over at a cut price for the weds or thurs just to fill a date in a smaller venue just so he can play to his fans in that state. Some artists insist on going to almost every state, one day they may play to 15,000, next day 1,000, the price shifts.

Im really surprised Snoop is available for that much given hes a legend. Also I remember reading a couple of years back Nas charged 150k

There's also some legend who dont charge that much and other dudes who charge a crazy amount who I wouldnt think were that in demand.

Not sure how it works.

Look at how much the artists white people consider legends get then look how much the legends in this genre get. It's disgusting

Now, would you believe that those artists that tend to want to go state to state, do better sales wise? Is there a correlation there?

Sales in EDM are more "singles" driven. Most aren't signed to majors etc. Albums rarely do large numbers so they see most of their money from the road.
