Some of the ones I named werent signed to a rapper.. the crew was just their cred .. without the crew most of them sisnt have a leg to stand on..
Back in the days you dropped in stages.. first the JBs then De LA, then Tribe, then Black SHeep, etc..

Duckdown had their phases... everything was planned but break ups destroyed a lot..

The ROC breakup messed up State PRoperty.. Hell Rell go lost when DIp Set broke up

It's all relevant, I meant can't put your hands in the career of another artist. Whether it's through a cosign, signing to their label whatever it is. It's like relying on a middle man for your shyt. If he gets busted or something happens then you are fukked. More times than not, this is why an artist doesn't drop or like you mention labels shuffling around/closing down/new people in charge.

Didnt mean a duckdown breakup .. typed that wrong.. I meant Duckdown did there phases with Black Moon, then Smif-n-Wessun, then FAb five... that was perfect execution..

But breakups can mess up alot of what plan/phases are in the pipeline
