I don't like Cee-lo these days. He's so ubiquitous these days and most people don't even know about his tenure with Goodie Mob (example my mother).
I would say that Outkast have a changed a lot since they first came on the scene, especially Dre. On their first record, he is rapping about smoking weed, and is real hard and aggressive, but by the subsequent record he wasn't smoking weed or drinking or anything. And then things just continued to progress, so much so he essentially had the most popular indie rock song of 2003.
Kanye has changed a lot too. I feel like his music took a more serious note around the time his mother died.
Thanks for the mention of Goodie Mob. I just put in Soul Food and am listening to it now. Probably the first time in a year or so. Great record. I put the first two Goodie Mob records in the same class as the first 4 Outkast records.
