I don't know. I could see definitely see Kanye getting a Grammy if he'd made "Thrift Shop" and "Same Love".
Anyhow, what's the whole "The album's not hip-hop" angle? The guy's rapping over beats w/ samples. Some with singing hooks, like everyone else. How is it any less hip-hop than a project like "Graduation" (which won the Grammy as well) or some of the albums that were nominated?
Would people have been just as mad if "NWTS" had won? Were people AS mad when "Take Care" won last year and if so, why weren't they done after last year when it won over "Life Is Good"? Why put stock back into the award?
The fans must WANT something to be upset about every year.

The album wasn't even good enough to win a grammy. His album wasn't critical acclaimed as GKMC, it didn't have no background or substance that's memorable (besides Same Love) which makes an album a contender for a Grammy

LiG just AINT better than Take Care. Too many weak spots. But some strong songs on there.
But regardless, this year's award was Kendricks and kanye's to lose.
