What u think I meant when I said he's playing with house money. He can't lose this year if he makes it to the finals....if he loses to Boston that's another story.

Yall don't have to protect him this year, he's got a built in excuse to lose
An excuse means an attempt to lessen the blame. How does Lebron hold back the Cavs in likely losing to the Warriors?

I don’t hate lebron i just don’t understand his stans. Two days ago a friend of mine who’s a bron super fan told me “Michael Jordan didn’t even have a jumpshot, he was a slasher.”

Breh really argued that lebron had a better jumper than Jordan. That’s when I realized I was dealing with a different level of standom.
:ohwow:

So I beat him at his own game and brung up them stats from outside the paint and watched him hit the juelz

But it was futile. I Crushed him.

In the same group chat, another breh said bron never had any real help besides Kyrie and Ray Allen.

Then how is it an indictment against Bron if his team loses to the better team?

This is just dumb.
Its weird as fukk. I understand shytting on a guy when he loses and doesn't play well (like LeBron in 2011) but I can't think of any other player who has balled out in series and still gets criticized heavily when his team loses.

It's mainly because it's only 5 players out there on the team and you can play offense and defense. The burden of success weighs heavily on the shoulder of the guy that is considered in the conversation for GOAT. There has to be something that separates him from his contemporaries, let alone the other greats, to be shoe horned into the GOAT conversation......so winning becomes the main sticking point. I was listening to Isaiah Thomas say nobody has "dominated" the league this long like Bron and I was like :jbhmm:

This guys has the same amount of scoring titles as Carmelo Anthony
The same amount of titles as Duncan and Wade (simply counting contemporaries with same amount of titles....I know he played with Bron)
Zero DPOY awards
The only unanimous MVP was won on his watch

He's not the best scorer, best defender, or ultimate winner of this generation.....so how can he be catapulted into the GOAT convo?

Bron is the ultimate compiler just like Peyton Manning was. Great stats, regular season MVP's, and not a lot of rings to show for it. If quarterbacks can be held to the standard of rings, when they play on 1/3 of the units and do not even play defense, I think it's more than fair to expect a guy in GOAT conversations to at least be a better winner than his contemporaries, no? It's all relative. He don't have to win more rings than Russell or MJ.....he just has to win more than the Duncan's, KD's, and Curry's of the world.....otherwise how do you ignore his lack of rings?

Since LeBron has been in the league, who has been more successful than him? He doesn't have guys doing more than him or winning more rings than him on his watch.

Lol Steph bouta equal his rings in almost exactly half the years played, what you mean?

15 seasons vs 9 seasons isn't almost half. And Curry has a teammate who people argue is as good as or better than LeBron so circumstances aren't close to being the same. The ring count argument makes the assumption that everything evens out over time but we know it doesnt.

But I think both LeBron and Curry are all time greats :yeshrug:

What's success? Making it outta the East? Cause again, there's players with just as many rings as him since he's been in the league. There's players with more scoring titles. Hell Joakim Noah has a DPOY award and Bron has zero. Like, what's the level of success you're speaking of? Cause he has yet to separate himself from his contemporaries in those regards.

:duck: LeBron's gonna finish his career number in points all time. Has a chance to end in the top 2 in assists.

Say the number #1 in points and #2-5 in assists doesn't separate himself from his contemporaries brehs

There are a lot of ATG's who saw other players winning the DPOY award or scoring titles during their careers. You act like LeBron has to monopolize the entire award list. He does have 4 MVP awards and by the time he's done, he will be near the all time lead in a ridiculous number of statistical categories.

Oh.......so are you ready to have an honest discussion about Bron just being the ultimate compiler? Cause by your logic, Stockton is the GOAT. All the numbers are skewed when you play forever. So sure, he may end up with the most points all time......but only led a single season during his "hypothethical" 20 year career once??? Seems like someone is struggling with the term "contemporaries".
