Queens is huge and diverse. Has the most projects but also is the most suburban and where all the middle class new yorkers supposedly from



someone recently told me there are guyanese gangs in NYC and that they hold shyt down. I never seen or heard of this before but the image of Indian looking people putting fear in the hearts of their opps just don't compute (I know trinidad is known for indian goons but everything I've seen in docs was them getting killed)

There's Guyanese dudes in already established black gangs. But there aren't really any Guyanese specific gangs roaming around.

There aren't really any mono-ethnic black STREET gangs (like Bloods, Crips, YBz, YGz, etc) in NYC.

They're all mixed.

You'll maybe have some mono-ethnic small block crews that a part of a larger multi-ethnic gang.

For what it's worth, Queens is the only large US county where black people had higher median income than whites until relatively recently. A lot of influential hip hop came from Queens like A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mobb Deep, LL, Run DMC, Main Source, etc.

Actually you might be right…I was on the grand concourse for the first time in years last month and I saw some things…

I tell everyone not from the area if you want that stereotypical NYC energy you see on TV, go to the BX. You might still see a group of homeless dudes getting heat from trashcan fire. I haven't seen that shyt since I was little.

There are a bunch of Trini and Guyanese gang members in NYC but I wouldn’t say Guyanese gangs specifically. Sadly the Guyanese and Trini you see in those gangs are all bruhs. I’ve never seen a Coolie (Indian) bangin in NYC.

Very mixed. I know A LOT of GSC nikkas and I know a few 9trey nikkas. There's all types of black of Hispanic people in them. Same goes for pretty much every "black" street gang in NYC.

You'll see even a couple of Asians or whites sprinkled in here and there. Rare though.
