Masculinity is a social construct that changes depending on the time period or culture.

the behaviours, values, or expectations a society views as being 'masculine' are largely the result of socialization, rather than as a result of some sort of 'hardwiring'.
Society plays a role in some of the so called masculine duties but masculine energy is definitely hard wired. Men and women don't naturally think alike but rather we were built to compliment each other. Don't fall for that bullshyt that men and women are exactly the same because it's a lie. Men are built to be the hunter's and protectors of the human family. This is why we are biologically stronger than women. This is why men are more war like and competitive compared to women. That's just one example but I hate this new shyt were they lie to people and act like men and women are exactly the same when we in fact are complimentary.

Whoever the poster was (I forgot) who said that most of the things people define as masculine are things that can apply to people as a whole is right.

I don't follow any basic definition because many of the qualities that people define as masculine are qualities that any functioning and mature adult should have.
