Since this is an action and not words, If I was that guy I would have twisted around and started attacking immediately. Lifting someone up without their permission is grounds for self-defence. Shoot, here in the US it would also be grounds for shooting the guy in a stand your ground state.

On another note, it is always a good idea to maintain some awareness of your environment. Someone being able to get that close up on you without your knowledge exposes that you are not really paying attention to where you are, who is around you, and what may be coming up on you. It may sound like paranoia, and to a certain extent it is, but it is better to be prepared for anything than to be completely caught of guard.
