As a Nas fan, Jay clearly makes an effort to bring him out of his shell

Can't even be mad at that. Its like he consciously reaches out to Nas and puts him on groundbreaking projects. Deff keeps Nas on the hearts and minds of the casual fan who may loose sight of cuz.

Nas & Rick Ross the only features on the album :wow:

I wish Nas would do more tracks like BBC where he shows how much charisma he has on the mic. It doesn't even have to be that subject matter, just different production and experimenting more with the flows.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I always liked shyt like Virgo too :manny:

He's a fan like us

Its crazy but I honestly can see it.. :heh:

Hov won't let you forget Nas

And nikkas need to realize Rick Ross's impact on the game. He just silently keeps popping up next to heavy weights and his resume is stacking up.. Ross name is punishing his peers outside of the lightskin brother from Canada :heh: and the white boy from Detroit (T.I., Jeezy, Ludacris, Fabolous, Lil Wayne)

One of the reasons I actually liked Streets Disciple as an album was it was his most comfortable he's sounded. I feel like the backlash on that album (Which oddly enough started a couple of montha after the album dropped, people forget it actually got good reviews) kinda put him in this akward stance on HHID and Untitled to be serious about things when he really didnt want to. He got it back on LIG but the positive reception for that album compared to SD always surprised me a little cause I felt like they a little similar in some ways ( a dude wanting to age gracefully)

That feature is a little weird. Jay does all the heavy lifting in his verse. Nas verse is very short, more like a short intro, and he was on the hook.

I guess overall it's the way you're supposed to do features if it's on your album, rather than something like Renegade, where you kind of end up as the guest on your own album.

Still, Nas and Pharrell don't really have a good track record for chemistry. It's even worse than Nas + Kanye, who at least have "Poppa Was a Playa" to brag about.

Edit: That Ross song was terrible. He's been going downhill since Rich Forever.

Nas been on or mention in damn near every mainstream album that matters the past two years. The guy is just the greatest that ever lived.

The point is Jay keeps Nas in our thoughts and minds as he promotes this "new rule" angle. Nas probably didn't need to be on the album but in Jay fashion he finds a way to position Nas as we move into the next phase of this music shyt.

I mean he could've easily hit Scarface for a feature

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I don't get it..Nas does basically what he wants..when he wants..has nothin to do wit Jay...Nas has literally been everywhere for the last couple years...Jay had nothing to do wit it...I'm actually disappointed the Coli spent so much time talkin bout that "verse" like Nas handed Jay a full joint and it was trash...that verse literally was a damn warm up 6 bars to introduce the track for the most part...shyt was barely a verse...the song as a whole sucks tho...
