Like I said in another Stillmatic is better lyrically, but the Blueprint is better produced and I think can be played Back to front. Oddly enough, I only think Blueprint is #4 of all Jay's albums.

:patrice:as much i like stillmatic, i might have to agree. There were a few weak spots production wise on stillmatic imo(smoking, rule, my country), but other than those few, stillmatic had good production aswell.

I still remember Sept 10th... the night before the official release my local cd spot was selling the album at 12am... copped and listened to that shyt over and over until like 3. Sipping on OE and marveling in the smoothness of the album. I'll never forget that shyt. Then I woke up to the towers going down. Weird transition to say the least but it left a lasting memory.
:wow:

I remember hearing Blueprint for the first time, and even with the scathing Takeover:ufdup:, I couldn't deny it:yeshrug: But, it's really because Just Blaze and Ye laced that album, off the inspiration of Ghost Supreme Clientele:blessed:

Before we are Stans of either or we are fans of HIP HOP first and foremost.

As a fan of HIP HOP it is impossible to shyt on The Blueprint, that album is a true classic of the genre. It was Jay-Z at his MOST complete as an artist, hell even the cockiness of going at Prodigy and The Goat is understandable considering the level Jay was at during this time period. With Roc-A-Fella poppin, two future GOAT producers crafting timeless beats at his disposal, and his rhymes blending so perfectly with said production it's no wonder that Jay was on top of the fukking world and let EVERYONE know it...

Album was aiight to me. Jay phoned it in and went away from his reptilian strengths. A lot of the content records were weak to me and the beats received unjust praise.

nikkas up in this thread stating their opinions as if the album isnt already universally acclaimed. nobody cares what you think.
If AMG gives an album a 5..even if retrospectively it is safe to say the jawn is a classic

As a Jay stan, I can say Blueprint is Jay's best album... but I like Stillmatic better :to:
