NFL has cycles for teams though. Raiders are rebuilding right now (and I know they havent been shyt since 2002- sometimes there are exceptions). it'll take them a bit to get back in it.
a team like bobcats will not in the foreseeable future ever contend for the 'ship. the raiders may if shyt goes right, in a few years. NFL draft if done right can boost a team from a coma into action

Should've drafted Matt Barkley in the 3rd round. Mistakes like that set franchises back 10 years. When you have shytty defensive lines and an inept offensive line you get the 2013 Oakland Raiders and the teams prior to them. We'll be in the shytter for the foreseeable future.

bad franchises stay bad longer, that much is true. raiders problem is that they cant put a good product on either side of the ball, and havent able to do so because of bad drafts, bad trades ( do I even need to say anything) that deprived them of drat picks) and stupid FA deals.

if they can just hit on good talent on one side of the ball, they'll be in motion. AFC west is weak as hell. broncos are leaning on an old, one injury away peyton and slowly capping their payroll. chiefs are chiefs, SD is rebuilding. in a couple of years everything can change in this division, easily

bobcats would have to draft a lebron to even be considered a playoffs contender.

Breh, we have years of terrible deals, terrible drafting(Al chose over AD and Megatron ), and terrible coaching to contend with. When McKenzie became GM there was no way we'd be great overnight and the more I look back the more I feel like the season we went 8-8 was mostly fool's gold.

Barkley is a weak arm accurate QB like Flynn. He is 3rd string behind Vick and Foles now in Philly. If Oakland drafted him last year, it would have been a wasted pick, especially with the plethora of good QBs coming out this year: Bridgewater, Manziel, Mariota.
