I'm all for lesser games (not only in NBA been saying the same for soccer) more for quality not quantity but its hard as everyone is money hungry.
Current 30 team set up. 62 games is perfect. Everyone plays H & A. And then within division everyone plays an extra game amongst themselves to get a tie breaker for playoffs/play-in. Eliminates b2b's and basically teams are playing 10 games a month. So works out as 3 2 3 2 scheduling format.

It's actually more about quality control. What do people complain about again? The lack of fundamentals and defence. More time they get to practice and rest throughout the season the better those skills become. You do want players to have better fundamentals and become better at defending right?
NBA like a poorly scripted Netflix series.The NBA basicall took away the ability to play defense.
How does your skill become BETTER with MORE rest? You have to be in game situations in order for that to inprove. Hence when people use the term "basketball shape" vs regular shape

It's called overload if you're tiring the players out and they don't get sufficient rest their form will drop. Sometimes the best thing a player can do when in a slump is too give them rest not just physically but mentally as well. You aint getting shyt out of a fatigued player beyond poor performance. Most of the time slumps happen when a player has a technical fault in their technique and they need time away from actual playing to correct it that's how skills get better with more rest.
If you're playing b2b's or every other day the rest and recovery period is at a bare minimum even more so when you're on your the road trip and travelling by plane/coach to venues. Take the Nuggets from 22 Dec to 4th Jan they play 9 games over 14 days. You think a schedule like that is sustainable throughout the season and the players are going to maintain their levels.

It's no surprise the most vocal cavillers of today's NBA product have megaphone'd their Right-wing rhetoric into the conversation, which is why they've done their damn best to push this misinformation about the NBA losing viewership because it became too liberal/woke. Aside from cable being on its deathbed, an overwhelming amount of the shift in TV ratings are due to White America turning their noses up at the NBA, not because of the actual game, itself, but because it's not pallatable for their white sensibilities any longer.
Bu-bu-but the 3-pt shot is the reason why the TV ratings are down.
Go and tell that to all the MAGA crowd who helped popularize Caitlin Clark on her way to shooting nearly 10 threes a game.

Anyone who couldn't see the correlation to the drop to the ratings after the bubble is being intentionally obtuse. Add in now that twitter is a nazi shythole that rewards users for daily "shyt on the NBA" tweets, and you see what's going on. Yes the NBA has issues (what sports league doesn't), but there are factors out of their control that create this narrative, a narrative (

I dunno it seems when I was a kid multiple players had funny commercials/characters for the last 20 years the focus had been basically on one player constantly and that player is on his last leg
