I never understood the ratings talks or why it matters because even when ratings were "low":
Players make more than they ever have
Coaches make more than they ever have
GM's make more than they ever have
Teams have more value now than they ever have
How can this be if "nobody is watching the games"
Advertisers are still paying and literally nothing else matters when it comes to ratings
For those who hate whichever of the NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL/WWE - When the ratings aren’t good those who have problems with the product feel validated and can get on their soapbox. Vise versa for the opposite
