Who in the hell is Slash?

Guitar player of rock group Guns N Roses

He's done a few guest features on hip hop and r&b songs

mainstream wise it's been pretty decent, but I don't only focus on what's currently pushed by the masses all the time. It's been a good year musically. Look at who dropped this year.

Kendrick (Black Panther Soundtrack)
J. Cole
Drake
Em
Jay/Beyonce
Cardi
Nicki

And that's not even the other artists who ain't really mainstream like that

Royce
Westside Gunn
Conway
Nipsey
Jay Rock

Everybody been eating well as far as hip hop releases. 4th quarter is really when the heavy hitters drop too.

slash was born in 1965, and made the guns n roses album everyone cares about in 1987

at what point in his life was rock music 'underground'?

THIS THIS THIS THIS!!!!

rock n roll has been mainstream since the 50s! Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and freaking Ike Turner took it there. Lets not get started on the 60s then the 70s when Led zeppilin and the Beatles were selling a billion freaking rock records, then the 80s with that hair glam shyt which he was apart of, the 90s with grunge and nu metal into the early 2000s with creed and stained and etc.

I doubt Slash listens to rap. If Tom Morello were to say it i may take it seriously and thats a small may

Hip-Hop Since '79
Here's the issue for those saying there's good hip hop out there. True. It is.

The problem is, the wack shyt has taken over the mainstream.

Back then, sure there was wack music, but it usually wasn't at the forefront of the genre.

Cause you agree with him doesn’t mean he knows what he is talking about

His “legendary” music careers means absolutely nothing to me seeing as is I don’t know who is and don’t care about rock music

But he do know what he talking bout; just cause you don't agree don't mean he don't.
And you probably not know who he is cause he must've been popular before your time :ehh:
