As hundreds of Black communities nationwide have been gentrified since 1980, more than 500,000 Black people have been pushed from their homes.

FBA better understand that these Asian and Hispanic immigrants and the tethers that support them have a negative impact on poor ADOS/FBA people. In housing and employment.

As hundreds of Black communities across the country have been gentrified since 1980, more than 500,000 Black people have been pushed from their homes. Those same neighborhoods have seen more than 3 million new Latino, Asian, and white residents, with cities like Atlanta, Washington, New York, and San Francisco witnessing entire neighborhoods transform within a single generation.

These arguments hold less weight over time. Own your shyt. Improve it. Maintain it.

Let’s be honest, sometimes grandma’s house needs to be replaced by dozens of apartments and condos.

More housing is always better than less housing.

Gentrification isn’t just “upgrading” neighborhoods.

These days I’m disgusted by the lack of agency and pathetic excuses we make for shyt like this. :gucci:

It’s really written like black people are just these puppets that can’t actually control our actions and behaviors and we are mandated to live in conditions of lack and resource scarcity.

This is truly insulting.

Its not “black culture” to defend public nuisances

White people weren’t shooting each other with gang wars in Watts. :francis:

Again this is bullshyt. Theres TOO MUCH community engagement. in many of these projects. It’s why stuff barely gets built. We need MORE housing built FASTER. We dont need to hamper projects with all these agenda laden restraints that always fall short anyways.

If theres enough housing, you dont have to complain about a lack of options

500,000 despite multiple millions of immigrants since the 1980s is really small potatoes.

The truth is black wages have not kept up with inflation and rent increases across the country. The average black worker is a high school graduate. Only about 17% of black working age adults have a 4 year degree.

Again, black people need to go to college and finish college. Black men especially.

Stop blaming foreignrs, They buy shiit property and build it up, We scoff at shiit property anfd move to the burbs whether we renting or buying. I'm guilty of this
Ehhh I don’t know about all that.

I grew up with a lot of Asian immigrants, so I seen the playbook firsthand. First wave starts a businesses in the hood, gets money and move to the burbs, second wave comes in and rents the first wave’s old broke down home in the hood and works at the family business as cheap labor. And Latinos do just the same.

Please don’t romanticize these folks.

Again. Black people have to get our shyt together.

Enough is enough.

This entire article is framed as showing black people as weak and unable to express sovereignty and competence in developing and sustaining a successful community.

Get. Your. Money. Up.

We need more housing. Scarcity is driving prices. No one cares about these claims of displacement anymore. Everyone is out to get what they can where they can.

This article isn’t helpful or enlightening. Its pandering activists nonsense masquerading as an article and lacks solutions.

Systematic racism actually has to focus on race. Redlining and racist exclusion zoning and discriminatory mortgage policies were examples of that.

Being pushed out because you’re poor isn’t. We need more nuanced and contemporary analysis for these discussions.

It’s not racist because you can’t afford to live somewhere. Thats a whole other problem.
