out of 12 teams that would make the offs if the season ended today, 8 are top 10 in defense. out of the other 4, one has a 1st ballot HoF QB who comes once in a lifetime (Peyton) and the others are eagles, lions and colts, most of which will probably be one and done.

I agree you need some semblance of a defense but elite QB play and high scoring offenses wins superbowls these days. Remember, Alex Smith got canned because Harbaugh felt the offense was limited even with that great defense.
Flacco (went nuts in the playoffs)/defense was 12th in scoring
Eli/defense 25th in scoring
Rodgers/defense was 2nd
Brees/defense was 20th in scoring
Ben/defense was 1 in scoring
Eli/defense was 17th in scoring
Peyton/defense was 23rd in scoring
Only 2 of the last 7 Superbowl winners have defenses in the top 1/3 in scoring. Its not imperative to have a great defense if you get the right QB/offense. The league is geared towards scoring now.

seriously though, you ragging on fisher who is a defensive coach for trying to build a defense in a division with 3 of top 10 defenses in the league is just stupid. and its not like fisher is trying to win a ship either, hes just trying to make playoffs
fishers is building it right. once the defense is in place he will draft a qb. its that PIT/BAL building way, one that proved it works over the years.

As of now, he has the Rams playing solid ball...If Bradford can come back healthy and they put some weapons around him, then he has a shot to make some noise if he doesn't screw it up

I swear the Rams just lost by 10 or + in back to back weeks vs division opponents. Where all this "He got them boys playing" talk coming from? Cuz they choked on the one yard line vs Seattle and beat Chicahgo by 3 TDs?

You can have the other three to round out the decade and that still only makes 5/10 and 2 of the last 7. There were some good defensive performances through the last decade but the league is running on offense.

league is basically running on elite qbs (denver, NO, pats) OR defenses (seattle, SF, CIN, KC) or possibly both. the rams cant get an elite qb so they built a defense.
