Kobe is a more skilled basketball player on offense, Jordan is a smarter and more effective player. Mike is a better on ball and a vastly superior help defender. And he obviously has a better resume, but alot of that IMO is more due to era,teammates, team role, and Competetion then him being a much better player. Talent wise they're very Comaprable.

I always found it interesting that guys who played in the league, played against both, coached both and against said they were close as players but nikkaz online always say different.

I have MJ number one on my GOAT list and Kobe 4 behind Kareem and Magic(barely)

I appreciated them, but after a while it just got old. They eventually faded away because I was putting together my own identity. But I’ll never forget how much I learned from MJ. I got so much from him. I knew what he did, I knew his moves and I used them.

He has said this a million times over the years too. You werent paying attention because you chose not too.

Actually...Kobe is my favorite player of the last 15 years. I was a huge fan of Jordan's game and to be perfectly honest with you, the way Kobe has played the past 15 years has almost made it seem as if Jordan never retired. Kobe's that close to him.

I've watch them both...on a scale of 1-100, if Jordan is 99...Kobe in my opinion is...95.

EDIT: shyt, I'd give Kobe a 96 or 97 if he displayed better decision making ability over the course of his career (I'm talking about on the court decisions).

I used to believe Kobe was right there but now I see MJ is just a tad better. He was more athletic and he was much harder to keep out the paint. Kobe as skilled as he is and maybe the most skilled SG of all time just wasn't as good as MJ. Kobe was a great athlete, MJ was a freak athlete. That gap is big enough to make MJ>Kobe.

that's the reason, at least in my eyes, why Kobe's legacy isn't nearly what these stans claim it to be (2nd best player ever, some even say he's the GOAT)

When you look at all the other all time greats, they had a certain uniqueness about their game that they're remembered for. Kobe will be remembered for "he was like Mike, but just not as good... but still great"

No other all time great has that stigma attached to them. No one says MJ was great but he was a bootleg version of Dr. J, or that Duncan was great but he was a bootleg version of Malone, Hakeem was great but he was a bootleg version of Kareem or Wilt, etc.

Kobe is the Chrysler 300 of basketball. On its own merits, yea, it's a solid automobile. But anytime it's brought up, you can't help but think to yourself "it's a fake ass Bentley (MJ)".
