And regardless of what people say, the only two legitimate LEGENDS/ICONS IN HIP HOP OUTSIDE OF HIP HOP are Pac, followed by Eminem.
theres way more people than just eminem(lol) & pac that are legitimate icons outside of hip-hop.
cmon now.
there was a whole thread ranking them. i could easily drop a list of 20-25 names. and i havnt given a dam about jay-z for a decade now, but youre in denial if you think hes not an icon outside of hip-hop.
Nikka you dumb I'm done with you.2pac was in the game as a solo rapper for 5 years and Big L was in the game for a solo rapper for 9 years. Damn fukking right im comparing them two. Like I said, nikkas in here celebrating jigga passing Pac but how is that fair? You nikkas keep moving the goal posts. Like I said it was Big L's fault for not being a big rapper in a 9 year span. Biggie and Pac made it faster than him.
Aeom went 5x plat in 96'. Currently it's 9x plat because Afeni didn't file the paperwork for it to be certified so we currently don't know HOW MUCH it sold. Keep moving goal posts/making numbers up

Is this fukkin opposite day?Albums were not that much back then and that's crazy how that logic even works
There is literally nothing that is the same price in 2014 as it was in the 90s, everything has gone up and has been doing so pretty much since the beginning of inflation
That is not even my opinion that is an economic fact

Is this fukkin opposite day?
Guy is absolutely right. It was especially bad at the chain music stores.
Back then magazines had those advertisements 12 cds for 1 cent. Of course they weren't really 1 cent but u really could pay for 12 albums and it would cost less than $100
I dont remember exactly how much they used to be in stores over a decade ago but they were not $17-$20
Plus it's a lot of cds today selling for $17-$20 unless they're on sale
I saw The Cool going for $20 a few years back
Columbia House sold CDs for 15-35 bucks, that's why they tried to lure people in with the mail order deal.Columbia House sold CDs for 15-35 bucks, that's why they tried to lure people in with the mail order deal.
If you were trying to get something unedited or unique, these chain stores didn't have it. Music shops like Sam Goody, Suncoast, NRM had the albums you wouldn't be able to get otherwise, and they charged you out the ass for it.
Nowadays you have popular albums available for 8-15 bucks on the release, because it's about selling MORE records instead of about selling records for more. Back then, you'd pay 8-15 bucks for an EP and some singles.
Inflation just means that the dollar is worth less than it was back in the day. It doesn't reflect on the cost of music over time. If anything, it's cheaper and more convenient than ever before.

He had mad double albums thoughLord Camel soundscan numbers, can't be compared to the GOAT One, because Pac didn't need Samsung, or whatever latest brand he's dikkriding to hedge those first week numbers![]()
