cali rap scene>>>>NY rap scene
shyt not even close
I'm here in NYC craving for the Lamar to drop on itunes at midnight
He has the potential to drop something serious. Follow Me Home, was a crack at mainstream, that's all it was. He needs his own H&C, Control System and GKMC/Section.80. He doesn't have his own lane sound yet like the others do. Once he drops that 1, its over.
Jay Rock is actually typically the type of emcee I prefer of all of the members. He spit straight forward hard verses with good lyrics, not weird or artsy like the others. But he's also too simple & dry to captivate for a full project in my opinion. I love to hear dude on features, he always adds value to a track, but I don't know if I need to hear him over a full solo. That's just my opinion on dude. He's missing the charisma the others have, even though them nikkas can be some weirdos musically, but I guess you kinda gotta be crazy like that to be an uninhibited artist.
ThisFollow me Home was fire Brehs. Niccas slept on that somethin awful
sometimes I hate the way this site dikkrides whatever is hot at the moment, I remember when somebody posted a jay rock thread onand that shyt barely went past 2-3 pages now everybody expects him to drop a classic
I guess because its the cool thing to do now is stan tde and rock is affiliated with them yall wanna jump ship now![]()
i think their artistry is going to rub off on him in serious way on this next project
section 80 - HNC - control system - GKMC - jay rock album - q album
they've all stepped it up, the in house production of dudes like sounwave and dave free etc has made leaps and bounds too
the TDE camp is IT right now
i agree though about jay, im sure it will be a great project but nowhere near a classic or anything, he is not of that magnitude
