Lol obvs Fitzgerald. He's top 5 all time
I always wonder why Larry Fitzgeral don't have more all-pro selections.

Like Tyreek and Marvin Harison who people usually keep outside of their top 5 have 6 and 8 respectively. While Larry F has 3, only 1 first team.

Is there a reason for why he was top 6 so few times? I never really paid attention to all-pro before I became an internet hawk, for me it was just always Fitzgerald, Mega, and :to:

all-pro selections typically require big numbers. Larrys best seasons came with Kurt Warner and Palmer.

Playing with bad qbs like Leinart, McCown, Kolb and Derek Anderson hurt him. Larry was never really an outside burner type, so he needed accurate QBs whod be good medium depth throwers

So basically media don't really adjust for circumstances for the all-pro the way they do for HoF/Goat-lists etc.

I mean yeah it's a regular season performance award. Its hard to isolate shyt in team sport like football.

Like Deebo got an all pro selection four seasons ago. Was he really the best WR? Not really, guy is not that good at route running. But he got the stats at a position, so why not.

Otherwise we'd have a lot more discourse on why a player x got an all pro even though he had much worse performance than player y.

It's crazy how things change. Back when Carter retired the first time, for a lot of people it was between him and Tim Brown for No.2 receiver of the modern era. Rice had the best stats and then Brown/Carter were No.2 in a lot of marks.

But the 2000s era changed a lot of things in terms of perception wrt Moss, Harrison, TO.

Played in a different era when the game was played different than it is today. For his era, Carter was a dawg and I can’t stand the guy…

Y’all might not have seen dude play, boy could run some routes now. He wasn’t ā€œtranscendentā€ but HOF he earned…
