You're right. I know quite a few of them. Although I know more older people that fukk with Drake over Cole and Kendrick, but that's a different convo.
The cats that like Cole, Drake and Kendrick like em, but they don't love em. They're 'tolerable'. They still think the new school are several notches below rappers of yore.
Difference with me: I'm not into Rocky because he's 'tolerable'. Live.Love.ASAP is in my top 10 all time albums. I don't know a single old cat who would say anything Kendrick/Cole/Drake is top 10 all time for them.

Honestly Rocky has little conceptual superiority besides his beat selection, flow and attitude. Which is a big dtho.eal but as an acutally artisit, he touches on the same topics. Nothing wrong with that tho.
He makes dope musi, I just think until he finds content that other artists cant touch he'll always just be on top but runner up. Could be a lot bigger if he told more stories, personal things. But he sticks with sexully charged lyrics and mob music, along with drug music.

Rocky is charismatic and has a good flow, but kinda suffers from 2Chainz syndrome where he'll either kill it with just the right amount of "swagger" and semi-lyrical bars or just half-ass the entire song and expect his flow & delivery to make up for some really weak bars & stupid metaphors. if I gotta hear "I get-gets, my dikk licked" one more fukkin time... 
I'm sorry, but the one thing asap rocky lacks above all else that will hold him back from being an upper echelon rapper in this era IS the fact that he has NO charisma or relatability
Dude is such a product, pushing brands, aesthetics, and lifestyle. He's curated be a series of a&r's who shaped his sound, and by outside influences who shaped his fashion (nothing wrong with that)
All it amounts to is a dude with passable flow spitting over fantastic production. There is no true overarching narrative to his music. His personality is hidden behind regular cocky braggadocio. And it can be well done! He's got so,e great records. Tough records. Great bragging records. Some cool semi depressed cloud rap type stuff. Well done stuff.
But not charisma. He's empty. What others put into him has been what comes out. No relatability, no charisma. And I say that as a far from the first time I heard Pe$o, Uptown, and back to the future years ago

Rocky just getting repetitive. I still gotta listen to the new joint but I aint really in a hurry cause I kinda know what Ima get outta dude at this point. And I was cysed about this one because I fukks with the other 2. But his recent interviews and leaks just left me with the
