So while a perfectly law-abiding man is minding his own business, a guy in street clothes says to him, without showing a badge, "I'm a police officer." and pulls out a pistol. I wonder what would have happened if the guy, fearing for his life, had rushed the cop as he saw him drawing a weapon, and in the course of struggling with him killed the cop with his own weapon.

Would he be doing time?
