I'm honestly shocked they don't have platform screens up that only open when the train arrives.

I personally don't stand anywhere near to the Train tracks at busy stations if anyone is floating about.

I've been in train stations like this on Hong Kong. They're great. Hong Kong's system is much smaller than NYCs. The price to do that here would be extremely high.

RIP to the victim here.

London has them as well. Obviously not a priority for some US cities

His actions make it difficult for everybody else

4 priors suggests he is never going to be a contributing citizen

what do you suggest society does with such individuals?

What we used to always do have free government ran mental institutions to isolate them from society and care for them and if possible rehabilitate them. What do we do with the terminally ill?, the elderly?, orphans?

Same concept but apply proper funding, regulation, and pay for the workers that would make it happen

In a nutshell TRY to give a fukk

NYC's subway system is way too old and dirty to have such things. The entire system would need to be renovated and refurbished but that would require the system to shut down for years and would cost a HUGE amount of money.

So yeah, it's not happening (at least not anytime soon).
