been to all those cities (and lived in Madrid for 2) and I honestly surprised u had that experience. I would walk in a cafeteria, order a beer or coffee, stern-looking, old owner slams my beer down and fetches me some tapa, Eventually they warm up but I had a pretty friendly experience from the 80/90 year olds who were used to Franco to the 4/5 year old that I may have been charging 20/hr to tutor.

Im making it my mission to move back asap

I would say give Madrid another chance. I hope u didnt go in the summer. That's when it's as hot as an oven and basically a ghost town. My favorite time in Madtown is October/November.

Im here for work, the culture shock wasnt really that big of a deal becuase I lived in the middle east before and compared to there europe is more like western culture than asia.. The language isnt easy to learn because the words are so damn hard to pronounce and Italian isnt spoken anywhere else outside of italy.. Also you can forget about seeing any hollywood movies here because they dub them into italian, that may seem normal but Ive been to Thailand, qatar, dubai, japan, panama to see movies, in english but this country refuses to atleast use subtitles I think that is just ridiculous..

Naples is like its own little world most of these dudes dont even speak italian, they speak neopolitan which is completely different

Only got one on the team in naples, she speaks 4 languages, enlglish being one of them, you be surprised how common english is in big cities in Europe. I'm also taking italian lessons. little things like language barriers are not hard to overcome
