Raina is her name I believe, and her music is good just really far out there (like some people say about Supernova).. She calls it hiprock and it sounds like rap rock, but more rock heavy over the words which is funny cause it ain't "true" hard rock in the background...
Cause it's basically soft rock mixed with soft rap, and it sounds good to me but it ain't mainstream material.. The lyrics aren't complex either but that's like rock in general. Cause of that she never got real attention in the US so she dropped out and went to the Asian market, mainly Japan. Lisa ain't take off immediately either but Raina never really gave us a chance to get used to her style imo
Also in the us she's more concerned with spreading Lisa's legacy over really digging in and establishing her own. Their fires for success aint the same, and she admitted that.
Big difference is it's not like she don't have to drive, but she's not wanted to be on top. Mostly because she's already got her niche.. Lisa had a niche too but she was still in a major field with a major group.. Main thing is their charisma though.. Lisa basically the only one that really took after their dad far as personality goes.. She ain't naturally out there, but she can "flip a switch" and be when she wants to. The other two though, her brother/sister are more reserved.. That ain't good for most artists in the Unite States of Fukkery, you at least want a mask on. I don't know for sure, but my guess is cause their father scarred them into being like that. Whereas Lisa sorta fed into that and lashed back when she got pushed enough
For what you was sayin about Lisa's business moves, one of the things I don't wanna put out here is stuff she had private to her.. So if you notice I gave a few general answers to give the idea unless I knew someone had mentioned it before.. Besides that I ain't really good at suddenly remembering details when I'm not asked specifically, but I can tell you becoming the head of Deathrow was one.. Just the controversy on its own cause she did have other artists she was fond of and thinking of seeing (like P) but the Suge plan was foolproof if the breh ever paid her his money.. But since she was still writing for Tha Row after they broke up, that obviously meant more to her than a fling even if she wasn't gonna finish the EP in the end..
Geenral again, she was working on two books and I believe a screenplay, from where that Honduras trip was giving her some inspiration.. But none of the big offers she was getting were gonna be tended to til after the Honduras trip because she was still deciding on where to go with NINA..
As far as she cared, any kind of attention is a potential business move.. Positive is preferable but negative too just a matter of how she spins it. And if you know how het career was going you know she had a knack for it. The biggest threat to her solo success was her manager/exec and TLC ironically.. People was still tryna cop it years after she announced it until they aint release it, then years after that.. Even the drama and her life choices were marketable.
