Or Save a person of the same sex versus your clone of the opposite sex?
Not every cultures values are the same so what constitutes rational aint necessarily going to be the same.
Besides every great sci fi author has done stories showing the consequences of thinking like dinosaurs and AI. The answers arent as simple as that question.
Ps 2012 the chinese workers who rebelled while building white folks ark made it easy to determine who was going to be the slave race versus the master race. Three boats with a bunch of 'rational' white people all the same, too much intrigue sorting out UsVsThem. A boat of Chinese slave labor versus two boats of white football carriers.....
