I've said numerous times throughout the Coli that Hillary failed to connect and did not run an affective campaign.

I've also said that I find non voters who complain to be hypocrites at worst and self-harming idealist at best because they put their future in the hands of others who might not share or even be antagonistic of them.

The bullet points you all seem to be incapable of separating:

1. Hillary gets to take blame for not running a good election.
2. Non voters should shoulder their blame as a consequences of not voting when things aren't going their way.
3. Non voting and protest voting tends to serve as a large fukk you to a candidate that you didn't like, but it doesn't lend well to actually improving your life.

Pointing out 2 and 3 has nothing to do with absolving 1.

Wait, the aim of an election is to vote for the candidate that best aligns with your view. During the primaries voters should always vote for their ideal candidate. However, if that candidate loses in the primaries in the general election it is more beneficial to vote for the remaining candidate that shares more of your values.

So while it istrue candidates should earn their voters, it is as I've said before in a scenario where someone will always be elected not voting/protest voting is always the worst option.

I see what you're suggesting, but it's not completely honest. Many Bernie supporters weren't overly liberal nor were they concerned about this more socialist policies. Instead, many of them in states and areas that went blue in previous elections did so because of his trade positions and promising jobs for rust belt and manufacturing workers. That's not too far off from Johnson's platform.
