Shortly after being leaked through unofficial channels, publisher Ubisoft confirmed today that Assassin's Creed Rogue will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this November shortly after the current-generation sequel, Assassin's Creed Unity. Ubisoft also released, officially, the game's first cinematic pre-rendered trailer featuring protagonist Shay Cormac.

Assassin's Creed Rogue is set in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years' War and will take place in various North American locations, including the frozen North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley and New York, Ubisoft said. Players will take control of a templar named Shay Patrick Cormac and hunt down assassins. Naval battles will once again be a component of the game, with Ubisoft promising new weapons on land and sea, including a new vessel named the Morrigan.

"Assassin's Creed Rogue completes the North American saga started with Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and gives previous-generation console owners an exclusive opportunity to experience fan-requested features, such as playing as a Templar," said Martin Capel, game director at Ubisoft Sofia, in a release.

Rogue is being developed by seven Ubisoft studios. Ubisoft Sofia is leading, working with Ubisoft's Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest studios. The game will be released Nov. 11, two weeks after Assassin's Creed: Unity comes to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

I doubt it comes out on next gen but it should be on PC tho so you're all good.

Hopefully the story and main character are better than 4. The last was piff in the gameplay department but that was it for me. You already know im copping both tho lol

Of course, what doesn’t kill you turns you into a hunter. Now Shay is on a path of vengeance, tracking down the Assassins and systematically eliminating them. Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be the darkest chapter in the franchise as you take off your Assassin hood and step into the role of a Templar. Get your first look at Shay and his mission in the announcement trailer for Assassin’s Creed Rogue.


Set in the 18th century during the Seven Years War, Rogue completes the North America saga that began with Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. From loyal Assassin brother to the Templar’s favored hunter, Shay will travel through the arctic North Atlantic Ocean, the Appalachian River Valley and a bustling New York City on his mission to destroy the Assassins.

In addition to the new environments, Shay will have access to some never-before-seen weapons as well as a new ship, The Morrigan, to help him take on threats on the open ocean with the return of naval gameplay.

Arm yourself with Shay’s air rifle and the variety of ammunition available. Whether you’re using specialized bullets or grenades, the gun is excellent for both short- and long-range combat. The Morrigan also comes equipped with a new set of tools to help you take on enemies in the frigid North Atlantic Ocean, including the puckle gun (a machine gun-like weapon) and burning oil, which creates a trail of fire behind your vessel. Be ready to defend your ship, as Assassins will be able to board you.

The frigid Northern temperatures mean you’ll be ramming your way through fields of ice to find hidden locations, and the many icebergs could provide cover in battle, or lead to a nasty scrape should you crash into one. Much like in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, you’ll be able to hop seamlessly from land to sea and back again, so be ready to explore but be wary of the wildlife.

“We know that there are many Assassin’s Creed fans with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles who want to get their hands on a new Assassin’s Creed game this year,” says Martin Capel, Game Director, Ubisoft Sofia. Hopefully the wildlife is more like AC 3 than Black Flag. The animals were a lot tamer in Black Flag...but not as tame as GTA V

I really hope after this & Unity they leave NA and Europe alone for awhile. If they do decide to do Europe again, spice it up. Give us the Salem Witch Trial time period or something. Give us something completely different and take us to Asia. That opens up a hell of a lot of scenarios and possibilities.
