This is the first AC I've touched since AC3 made me mad... Yasuke got these fools upset so I had to support day 1. I can already see my sinking many hours into this. It's got the perfect wandering samurai vibe that will keep me fed until Ghost of Yotei. I'm playing on the Pro in balanced mode, and this is definitely the visual showcase I've been waiting for. The soundtrack is on point too.

Four hours in and I'm loving this. The extra time they kept this in the oven was worth it. I heard about the English VA being rough but I always play these sort of games according to the setting the story takes place in. The Japanese VA is top notch.

Mayne, what's up with all these games where your pops/parents die in the prologue? It's like errrytime a game involves a parent, I know they're finished.

That's 90% of every Assassin's Creed game ever Its a rite of passage.

Japanese voices/immersive mode is the way to go for sure. Weather effects and graphics are top notch on the Pro

How is this game on PC? Is it well-optimized?

Its been awhile since I played an Assassin's Creed game.

I'm still early after the prologue so I don't wanna jinx it but I'm actually shocked with how well it's running (and I'm on a 4080 laptop). AC notoriously runs like unoptimized ass on PC so it looks like they took their time with this one (Valhalla wasn't as bad as Odyssey at least)

EDIT: Apparently SpecialK mod allows you to uncap the cutscene framerate. Haven't tried it yet

You can definitely feel the difference between Yasuke and Naoe. Breh cuts through foes like a hot knife through butter. Naoe is noticeably quicker, but can't tank nearly as much damage. Gotta choose your spots with her as stealth is her strong suit.

VA is top notch in Japanese.

Them Portuguese were doing the most to try and trick Nobunaga into seeing Yasuke (Diogo) the way THEY saw him. Interesting how Euros always believe their worldview is better.
