Might not be able to get a job if you have a criminal record, might not even be able to rent an apartment but you’re expected to pay back a hefty sum for everyday you’re incarcerated even though you’re already supposedly serving your sentence. This country is truly some shyt.

It's not just prisons either. Jails and probation and parole all charge money to the person

If I break the law and goto jail... the taxes I been paying my whole life should have paid for my stay

Actually shocked that 48 states have laws the allow them to collect. This just puts those inmates in a worse situation leaving prison. They already paid by serving their time. Not sure how that's even constitutional.
