We must remember, they claim Satan picked the weakest link in the garden. Fast forward to the 1960s, when black women was afforded the opportunity to get on welfare. Black women had no problem keeping the black man out the house so she could get her benefits. Meanwhile, white women kept a man in hers while she got her food stamps. If a black woman found a way to free slaves, then surely she could've kept a man in the house.
Single motherhood is rising in all communities these days.
You make a good point about how the system has played a role in leading to these broken households.
However, I can't in good faith take agency away from the fathers. I know there's good fathers out in the streets who get screwed over by their baby mamas and what have you. But there's a lot of fathers in the hood that are straight up deadbeats or uninterested in being active in their kids' lives without any influence from the mother. I've seen cases of fathers moving to different cities and states to be with other women as opposed to raising their kids as well as fathers who still get caught up trying to partake in nonsense(drugs, street shyt, etc.) to the detriment of their own lives as well as their children.
So, I think it goes both ways: The system(particularly section 8 housing) rewarding single moms over 2 parent families and the lack of emphasis on monogamy and marriage in our own communities.
If more Black people in both genders valued long term relationships and especially marriage over hooking up and having kids out of wedlock, many broken households would be fixed but it's a team effort.
