the way i see it, hhh always needed someone to help get him over. shawn helped get him over, chyna helped get him over, road dogg helped get him over, steph helped get him over, flair helped get him over... etc, etc.
he was always LESS OVER when he came to the ring by himself.
meanwhile like you said angle came right in and climbed to the top.
