1 wire, maybe 3-6ft long. And unless u have a touch screen unit with screen mirroring, going through the HU is not that great either. I have 40 gigs of music and probably like 400-500 albums. Id rather pull up music by voice command or just organize shyt into playlists. shyt gets to a point where its unmanageable through like 4 buttons on a headunit.
each to there own breh, but to me I couldn't do that

I need superior sound quality from b and O speakers, direct digital input, no wires, along with steering controls. not to mention charging of my device while I drive. but hey if you like analog aux cool

This dude is really up in here arguing that 3.5 mm connections and things like aux are mono:dahell: Dude you're being dumb as fukk right now. Just because its one cable doesnt mean its mono. In fact inside the insulation of a lot of cables there are two copper wires providing the stereo sound

When you listen to music with aux i don't know about anyone else but I hear the variety between the left and right channels as I would through any other medium for music outside of a higher than 2.1 system. It doesn't switch to mono. The output on your device is built for these cords and outputs seperate channels for them and they travel through the cord on seperate channels. This is why the ends have two rings to provide that 1 to 1 connection between right and left channels such as the diagram above.

Also see the following:

This is a mono stereo cable. Most people don't use these for aux. They use the first diagram with the two rings.

before anyone starts talking about sound quality unless you have an incredible system this is invalid mute point. but yeah I have no idea why someone would use either of these in 2015 especially when they could use a hard drive/usb/ipod

6-channel bi-amped Boston Acoustics component separates & MTX sub system. I spent years in the a/v industry doing car and home stereo sales and installs, it will be cd's till I die!!

nikka I do what I want.

:salute:

Anyone still burning mp3 cd's? :blessed::wow:

Yea, only for stuff I can't get on cd or if I need a custom mixtape.

I keep a live band in the trunk...

digital input >>> analog aux

maybe driving with wires, and controlling the music from the device is okay for you. it just isn't for me.

but breh its still shytty analog, with a loada wires. and no way of selecting track from headunit
You sound dumb and youre all over the place

First it was just mono meaning if you plug the cable in its only going to play on one side of the car.'

You already proved there you dont knwo what youre talking a bout because you could have saved time talking about mono this and that and just blabbered about analogue since 3.5mm cables are capable of playing stereo.

Now youre saying its stereo but its shytty analogue. The STEREO sound in a 3.5mm cable in alot of japanese care, in particular my acura, sounds good and this is what most cars have, Analogue wiring.

Even if you conect a flash drive to a usb, unless your cars wiring is wired digital, the signal will be converted to analogue in order for it to be played.

Maybe you should swith your format to say if your car isnt wired digital you lost? :ld:
