I don’t think anyone is saying she wasn’t an adult, but she was being abused and drugged by someone in a position of power. There’s no age limit especially if they “get you” when you’re young.
Oh shyt! Diddy held her down and stuck a needle in her and cocaine down her nose? :ohhh: Lock him up for life! :damn:

There's a BIG conversation that everyone's avoiding (in society). About when is the age of consent, accountability, and responsibility.

A 16 year old girl isn't old enough to have sex...but if she kills someone she's old enough to serve life?

If two people get drunk and have sex, one of them, the woman can claim she was drunk and raped. What about the man being drunk? Why isn't he the victim?

These questions are avoided.
Because the drunk man isn’t being penetrated, that’s why.

Now if we’re talking about a case where the man says a woman hopped on top of him without his consent— I’ve heard that. That is rape and you should report it.

Good luck getting an answer from the same group who looks at an underage boy getting sexually assaulted by a grown woman and are instantly jealous they also weren’t a victim but if the victim and perpetrator sex are switched they’re out here crying with pitchforks in hand yelling “put him under the jail.”

Seems like our natural reaction to those cases is partially an answer.

We have a natural inclination to want to protect women and especially young girls in certain scenarios due to what we know about ourselves and other men. What we also know about ourselves is what causes us to give those female teachers a certain leeway in comparison to male teachers.

If we have a natural instinct to coddle women, and the women obviously want to be coddled and protected, whats the problem?

Seems like bothsides are in agreeance on that. Problem is just like a child, women want the protection, support and coddling perks that come with childhood. But dont want the parents to give any rules or restrict freedoms. Even when its for their own good. As men we have to ignore their protest. You will recieve standards and rules,as well as coddling:respect:

Of course! They just don’t talk about it because society judges yall differently in these situations.

Like that pastor Eddie Long who mysteriously died of some illness they didn’t reveal until ppl noted his rapidly deteriorating health.
All those young boys ppl said he was flying around with him and paying them. They weren’t all underage. Some were young college students who, it can be guessed, were being financially assisted by him. He wasn’t just reading the Bible with those young men. :francis:
18 is legal, but it’s easy to make bad decisions when the person who is in control of your career, livelihood, opportunities, etc is telling you that you need to do something strange for some change. Coercion is real and happens to both sexes.

The point is if you are 18, 19, 20 and someone 2x your age is pressing you, you may give in because you’re intimidated. You still made the decision, but you made it under duress.

Everyone can look back at situations that happened when you were younger and say “you know what, if that shyt happened today I would’ve handled it differently”. Ppl try you when you’re young and new to the adult world.
If you were talking to an 18YO girl you KNOW you could play her like a fiddle compared to a 28YO woman. That’s the point.

A grown man in his 30s can talk down to a young man and son him more easily than he could a man who is his own age (30s). Someone steps to you a certain way, it ain’t going down. But if they step to your 18YO little brother or cousin, they might not know how to handle the situation because they don’t have life experience yet.

Do I believe some of the stuff with Cassie and Diddy was consensual? Yea, sure. Do I also believe a 36YO man put a 19YO in a recording contract and made it clear he was in control of her career and that if she didn’t play his game her career would be over? Yes, I also believe that. And when you are 18, 19, 20 that can be incredibly intimidating.

I mentioned it before- I’ve have college professors try it, pastors try it, police officers who were a little too flirtatious, etc. A lot of old men try it with young women. A LOT. But the men in my family were only a phone call away and I knew those men trying me didn’t really have control over my life. So I froze and waited for them to realize I wasn’t engaging and they looked like weirdos or I found an exit and never turned back.
But if that was my boss literally in charge of my (music) career, or the person who signed off on a scholarship or school admissions <— those are the crazy situations where men in power may try young women.

Cassie was an extreme case. Sounds like it was a decade of Harvey Weinstein. If Diddy had gotten to her at like 25, she probably would’ve been like “hold up fukk this” MUCH SOONER.

I always mention JLO. You know Diddy was cheating on her and beating her ass too- the difference is JLo was a grown ass 30YO star in her own right and was able to walk away when shyt got dicey. Cassie never built anything independent of a man so whenever she left Diddy, she would literally be starting from scratch like when she was 19.

Respectfully, I disagree with some of your stance. It's still tip toeing on personal accountability and underestimating young people. I believe there's medical studies being done to rewrite what we once thought accurate, that your brain doesn't mature until age 25.

*should there be a huge lawsuit for all the people who joined the military at 18. And/or should all the inmates who killed people at 13-24 be released**

Society is talking out both sides of its mouth. Which is it: Are people below the age of 25 too immature to hold accountable for decisions or not???

I don't believe young people are automatically taken advantage of by older adults, especially in 2025! This isn't the 18th century where children are shielded and information isn't available.

And for that matter, grown, middle aged adults atmre taken advantage of every day. You can use position of power, but age alone...naw. People know exactly what they are doing!

Men are dangerous even when they're not conscious don't you know?

Agree with all of the points stated.

They really told you that?
One of the most surreal experiences I've ever had was witnessing a college friend come back from the military after dropping out of college. Sweet guy really peaceful and watching him battle with his own nature verses what he was taught. This was during the Iraq war mind you.
